Amy is an advocacy and international development expert with experience in both Parliament and the NGO sector. She joins us from the child-focussed organisation World Vision UK where she headed the Government Relations team, leading engagement with MPs, parliamentary networks, Ministers, and inter-agency groups.

She has spent time in a number of humanitarian and emergency contexts supporting advocacy work, such as Nepal, Jordan, Uganda, and Bangladesh. She has an MSc from the London School of Economics in international development and humanitarian emergencies, and has spoken on multiple panels and public events.

UAMH CEO, Jonny Oates said: “We’re delighted to welcome Amy to our team. She brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles which will be invaluable as we work to raise the profile of global malnutrition and hunger in the UK and press for action to end it.

Amy Smith said: “I am excited to be joining UAMH at such a crucial moment for global hunger. The UK has a real opportunity now to return to heart of global efforts to combat malnutrition and hunger. I look forward to working with the UAMH team and partners across parties and sectors to move the dial at a time when more people are in crisis than ever before.”
