Baroness Sugg is a former minister at the Department for International Development and Foreign Office. Jonny Oates, former Chief of Staff to Deputy PM, Nick Clegg, will take on the role of Chief Executive of the new organisation.
Liz Sugg, co-chair of United Against Malnutrition and Hunger, said:
“This is a critical moment for the world with hundreds of millions facing the prospect of malnutrition and hunger. Britain needs to play its part in global efforts to address the crisis – not just to assist those in desperate need but because the prosperity and stability of countries around the world matters to our security and prosperity too. United Against Malnutrition and Hunger is here to make that case and to bring new voices to this urgent debate.
Jonny Oates, Chief Executive of United Against Malnutrition and Hunger, said:
“Our aim at United Against Malnutrition and Hunger is to harness British expertise and understanding to advocate for practical, cost-effective solutions to global malnutrition and hunger, and to put them firmly on the map for the UK government.”
The full membership of United Against Malnutrition and Hunger’s supervisory Board and its Global Leadership Council will be announced when the alliance is launched next month.
